One of the two have since fallen completely apart and we are not sure why. We are looking at different mats but have not made a decision yet. Our thin black mats lasted 6 years and a barbecue mat didn't last 6 weeks, the second one is still hanging in there. I would send the damaged one back but regrettably, my son-in-law threw it out. We've been using the BBQ grill mats for a couple of weeks and love them! Makes it sooo much easier to grill veggies and fish. We will definitely be eating more veggies with our meat this summer. I gave it five stars as the ease of using this was incredible. I used it for the first time today and cooked chicken breasts on them. While not get the traditional grill marks on the chicken I did get a nice brown coating on them. While I used a browning season I can still see the browning where the seasoning was not coating the chicken. My Weber will heat up to 700 degrees so I was careful to get it between 500-600. It didn't take long to get the browning on one side and it didn't take long to finish cooking the breasts. I would have rated this a 4-star as I really love my char grill marks but this does a nice brown as you'll see but what really sold me was the clean up. I ran warm water on it and used a small brush with soap and this mat was clean in no time. I'm going to enjoy cooking with this I believe.
I haven't got a chance to use them yet but I liked the fact these are much thicker and more rugged than the usual mats. The grill mats arrived yesterday as promised and were on the grill shortly after. They cooked as well as advertised and cleaned up like a dream! Absolutely awesome. Best grill product ever. Say goodbye to tin foil. Easy to use and clean on both charcoal and propane. These are awesome. Made kalbi ribs, which usually flame up and burn on the outside due to the sugar in the sauce. No burning with the BBQ grill mats, and they still crisped up and carmelized in their own juices. Also made chicken kabobs with bacon paste (YES) which were fantastic. We love these mats.
This product is outstanding! It has changed our approach to grilling. Vegetables stay most and tasty when grilled on the mat. It is perfect for pizzas because the dough doesn't stick and cooks quickly and uniformly. I cooked a chicken breast on my new Kona Mat basting with lots of flavored butter and olive oil. The butter mixture ran off onto the hot Kona Mat and cooked to a black crisp. The chicken cooked perfectly! Even though I didn't get around to cleaning the Kona for several days it cleaned up nicely and is ready for my next cookout. Fits my needs perfectly. I’ve cooked burgers, brats, and hotdogs. Cooking is very even on my fas grill. Cleans up very easily. One suggestion, if you cook brats or sausages you nat want to poke a few holes so the juice can get out. Otherwise, you’ll get a spray of juices when you bite in.
